The best-selling IoT SIM card on Amazon

THE "Eco-SIM CARD" IS BORN:
THE ENVIRONMENT-FRIENDLY SIM CARD THAT DOES NOT WASTE PLASTIC

DEVICES CONNECTED WITH THE CARD FOR IoT AND M2M ARE DRIVING THE REVOLUTION IN THE HOME AUTOMATION, INDUSTRY 4.0, TELEMEDICINE, SMART CITY, BIKE SHARING AND PHOTOVOLTAIC SECTORS

The idea to reduce the waste plastic produced by SIM cards inserted in IoT and M2M devices and prevent polluting the environment comes from an Italian company founded in 2017, but with over 12 years of experience in global telecommunications.

As stated by CEO Manuel Zanella: "We manage this way to save 80% of plastic, 13 tons in 3 years, and a reduce CO2 emissions equal to 8,000 kg, just as much as a car emits to travel around the world. An incredible amount."

Milan, 26 November 2019 - Things Mobile, the operator dedicated to the Internet of Things (IoT) with the best-selling SIM cards on Amazon, presents the "Eco-SIM Card", the first environment-friendly SIM that does not waste plastic.

This innovative SIM card is able to connect millions of smart devices, from washing machines at home to drinking water systems in Africa, through to company fleet tracking systems or smart security systems.

The idea of Things Mobile is to reduce the useless waste of plastic used in SIM cards, respecting the environment and nature.

Traditional SIM cards, in fact, are produced and sold in a plastic frame in the shape of a "credit card", which is completely useless, since the first thing you do when you buy it is to remove it and then throw it away.

That's why Things Mobile has developed a new, much smaller format that greatly minimizes the environmental impact. "Eco-SIM Card" is a brand new and modern SIM card that has minimized the material, since the size of the packaging is about a quarter of that currently on the market: the new SIM card uses less than 4 grams of plastic, compared to the 16 grams of traditional cards.

The savings for the environment will be there for all to see: Things Mobile plans to market around one million of these new Eco-SIM cards by 2022.

As Manuel Zanella (43 years old), founder and CEO of Things Mobile notes, "All the plastic used to package SIM cards is now superfluous. Once, with old GSM cellphones, the card was inserted in it entirely, but now that IoT and M2M devices typically use nano or micro SIM cards, this absurd waste of plastic no longer makes any sense. With the new Eco-SIM card, we manage to save 80% of plastic, 13 tons in 3 years, and a reduce CO2 emissions equal to 8,000 kg, just as much as a car emits to travel around the world. A truly incredible quantity."

"The Internet of Things (IoT) is changing the world in which we live, work and play and we are contributing to this revolution. But we don't want to do it at the expense of the environment," says Manuel Zanella.

The new "Eco-SIM Card" by Things Mobile will be available from January 2020 in all formats: mini (2FF), micro (3FF), and nano (4FF), both in the traditional UICC version and with the new eUICC standard (eSIM). The eUICC version can contain one or more operator profiles and, thanks to Things Mobile's provisioning platform, to switch to another operator.

Juan De la Coba, Co-founder and COO of Things Mobile explains, "Our SIM cards help businesses to achieve entirely automated and interconnected industrial production. This means lower costs and also lower energy consumption. In addition, each company can manage its own SIM cards with a targeted solution, at no additional cost. Regardless of the number of SIM cards, you accelerate time to market, reduce costs and increase reliability with automated connectivity management."

Things Mobile is the first global mobile operator dedicated to the Internet of Things (IoT) and Machine to Machine (M2M) devices. The company was founded in 2017 by the entrepreneur Manuel Zanella, Juan De la Coba and the investment company AngelSim. This is a new universal solution for the IoT, which through a SIM card and an IoT Portal, delivers wireless connection worldwide, without initial costs and without a fee. Things Mobile is the fastest growing IoT mobile operator and will close 2019 with a 400% increase in revenue over 2018. In the next few years, we expect a consolidation of the market position in line with the exponential growth of the IoT market.
